Honda unveiled the ADV 150 scooter at the 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show in July. The manufacturer has now launched the scooter in the USA in its 2021 version. We bring to you details of the motorcycle through this image gallery.
The Honda ADV 150 borrows its adventure theme and character inspiration from the bigger X-ADV scooter. It sports a boxy yet aggressive-looking front end that houses twin LED headlamps, a tall two-way adjustable windscreen that is flanked by LED turn indicators. The ADV 150 looks similar to the X-ADV from the rear thanks to the ‘X-shaped’ LED tail lamp. Furthermore, it gets a step-through floorboard and an upswept exhaust that adds to its ‘adventure scooter’ character.
However, the dual-sport tyres wrapped around 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheels complete its look. Suspension duties are done by telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged twin shocks at the rear; both sourced from Showa. Meanwhile, braking hardware consists of a 240mm disc brake at the front and 220mm disc at the rear with single-channel ABS .
In terms of features, Honda has equipped the ADV 150 with an inversely-lit LCD instrument cluster that shows speed, odometer, current fuel economy, trip meter, fuel gauge, battery voltage, clock, calendar and ambient temperature. The ADV 150 also has a display for tell-tale signs positioned below the display.
The scooter offers ample amounts of storage space. It gets a 2-litre glovebox with a 12V USB charger. It also boasts of a 27-litre underseat storage. The large size of the compartment is due to the positioning of the fuel-tank. Honda has fitted the 8-litre tank in the mid-section of the ADV 150’s double-cradle frame for low centre of gravity.
Powering the scooter is a 149cc, single-cylinder engine which puts out 14.5bhp of power at 8500rpm and 13.8Nm of torque at 6500rpm. It comes mated to a V-Matic gearbox.
Nevertheless, Honda is unlikely to launch the ADV 150 in India anytime soon. In other news, the manufacturer has removed a few scooters like the Grazia, Aviator, Navi and Cliq from its official website.
