- 2020 Africa Twin India launch tomorrow, 5 March
- Gets mechanical, cosmetic and electronic updates
- Likely to be priced around Rs 14.5 lakhs
Honda is scheduled to launch the 2020 Africa Twin CRF1100L in India tomorrow, 5 March.
The adventure-touring motorcycle sports the silhouette of the previous model although with slight revisions in its design that make it look sharper. The split-headlamp setup gets redesigned LED lights and the tail lamp has an edgier design as well. Speaking of which, the new Africa Twin’s tail section is sleeker and the upswept exhaust looks beefier, adding to its appeal.
Underneath the new skin, the Africa Twin CRF1100L sports a new 1048cc, parallel-twin motor that puts out 102bhp and 105Nm. And in terms of electronic rider aids, the motorcycle boasts of cornering ABS, wheelie control, cruise control, rear-lift control along with cornering lights. The Honda Africa Twin CRF1100L also gets a 6.5-inch TFT display that is touch sensitive and offers Apple CarPlay.
We expect Honda to price the new Africa Twin between Rs 14.3 lakhs to Rs 14.5 lakhs; a premium of around Rs 1.5 lakhs over the outgoing model. It will compete against the big guns in the ADV game like the BMW R 1250 GS and the Triumph Tiger 1200.
