Honda has recalled select units of the 2018-2019 Africa Twin Adventure Sports (CRF1000L) and 2020 Africa Twin Adventure Sports (CRF1100L) motorcycles in the US over a fuel filter issue. The recall notice states that the contaminants inside the fuel tank may cause the fuel filter to clog. This could result in the engine stalling, which may cause a crash or an injury.
This recall could potentially affect 2,690 units of the Africa Twin motorcycles in the US. The company will notify the owners of the affected models, and dealers will drain and clean the fuel tank, and replace the fuel filter assembly free of charge.
Honda has also issued a STOP SALE NOTICE on all 2018-2019 CRF1000L and select 2020 CRF1100L motorcycles to repair the fuel filter clogging issue. The fuel filter kit includes suction filter, fuel filter, pressure regulator assembly, pressure regulator O-ring, fuel pump O-ring, fuel chamber, and fuel pump packing base.
Honda 2Wheelers India has issued no such notice for the Indian market.
