While Honda is yet to reveal the production version of its eagerly anticipated CRF 1000L Africa Twin, it seems like the Japanese manufacturer has already commenced testing of the touring-focussed version of the adventure motorcycle.
A new spy shot of this touring motorcycle, taken near Honda’s research and development centre in Germany, has been circulating on the internet. This spy shot shows a heavily camouflaged motorcycle bearing which seems like a touring-focussed version of the Africa Twin. The test mule featured a much taller windscreen than the standard Africa Twin, while the rear section sported luggage panniers and a top box. Though the Africa Twin will also come with an optional dual clutch gearbox, this particular model sported a conventional gear system.
The photographer, who took this spy shot, also said that the motorcycle later went on to the Autobahns for some high-speed testing. We can expect the Africa Twin tourer to come with the same 1,000cc parallel-twin engine, which is expected to produce around 110 horsepower. We can expect this motorcycle to be unveiled a few weeks after the Africa Twin goes on sale.
