- Honda to bring in the Moto3 race machine to India.
- Aims to develop an Indian motorcycle for national and international championships.
Honda India announced a new step-up platform for Indian racers, giving them a chance to get familiar with a Moto 3 machine. The company will introduce a new NSF 250R racing series next year which will provide budding Indian talent access to race an international-spec race motorcycle.
The Honda Group of Companies have also created three new teams for the Asian riders (including India) to prepare them for international racing championships. The first is the Honda Asia Dream Racing, which will compete in the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race and JSB1000 class of All Japan Road Race Championship, the most premier road racing championship in Japan. The second team, Idemitsu Honda Team Asia is a platform for Asian riders in Moto2. And the third team is Honda Team Asia for the Moto3 class of FIM Road Racing Championship. The Moto3 and Moto 3 classes are the stepping stones to MotoGP.
The new NSF 250R race series will run alongside the CBR 250R one-make championship in India. The NSF 250R is a 2015 Moto3 winning bike, powered by a 249cc engine. It is assisted by a Ram air intake system which helps the motorcycle obtain high power output even in challenging hot conditions such as ours. The NSF 250R has a low centre of gravity and a precise handling which could help the Indian riders get acquainted with an international spec machine before taking the leap into the big leagues.
