A low resolution photo of a new Honda scooter has been leaked online. This new scooter, rumoured to be the facelifted version of the Honda Aviator, will be the seventh Honda model to be launched in India, this year.
The new scooter’s front apron looks very similar to that of the current Aviator, though Honda seems to have ditched the chrome panel in favour of a plain design. Unlike the bulky rear section of the current Aviator, the rear of this scooter has been completely redesigned and sports a sleek and minimal design, just like the Activa-i. The alloy wheel design is also the same, though the ones in the leaked photo are white in colour.
Mechanically, the new Aviator will be identical to the current scooter. It is built on the same platform used in the Dio and Activa, and is powered by a 109.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which produces 8bhp and 8.77Nm of torque. The photograph shows that the new Aviator will continue with telescopic suspension and a disc brake for the front wheel.
Aviator is the most expensive and the second most popular Honda scooter in the Indian market. It is targeted towards male riders, looking for a discreet scooter for daily commute. Like the current Aviator, we expect the facelift to be available in Standard and DLX versions. We expect it to be launched here in the next couple of months.
