It is too soon, we know; the Honda CB Six50 is still a concept after all. But, given that it is based on the CB650F and the production version will be made in Thailand, we can expect a production motorcycle based on the CB Six50 to be assembled and sold in India as well. The Honda CB Six50 was showcased at the 2015 EICMA held at Milan last month. The design, to say the very least, is bold and a welcome foray to the world of Scramblers; a growing product category among motorcycles.
Mechanically, the CB Six50 will be based on the CB650F and this means that we can expect a power output of 86bhp at 11,000rpm along with 63Nm of torque at 8000rpm, much in sync with the production version of the CB650F. The engine will be a four cylinder, liquid cooled and fuel injected unit. It will have an accessible and manageable power delivery too.
Much of the CB Six50’s design is centered around a Scrambler and this eye-catching motorcycle has a rectangular headlight with a motocross-style handlebar which is mounted behind a small digital display. The seat and tail design has been kept minimalistic but looks snazzy in bright red. Huge knobby tyres coupled with the bland but functional bash plate complement the rude looks.
With the CB Six50, Honda has made it obvious that they’re trying to plug the need for a fun and funky motorcycle.
