Honda introduced single-channel ABS in the CB Unicorn 150 and priced it at Rs 78,815 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is a bump of Rs 6500 over its non-ABS model. In case you are planning to buy the Honda CB Unicorn 150 ABS, let’s go through a few alternatives you can look at in this segment.
At a very similar price, you can get the Hero Xtreme Sports which costs Rs 79,850. It offers a 149cc, air-cooled, carburetor motor that produces 15.6bhp of power and 13.5Nm of torque. Although it is a commuter, the Xtreme Sports flaunts a sporty styling with split seat and clip-on handlebar. Meanwhile, boasting of the same aspects is the TVS Apache RTR 160 but it is costlier at Rs 87,719. Its 160cc, air-cooled engine churns out 15bhp and 13Nm of torque. However, at a similar price, you can go for the TVS Apache RTR 180 as well. It doesn’t just offer a larger engine but is also the most affordable motorcycle with dual-channel ABS.
Now, in the Honda showroom itself, you can check out the X-Blade ABS. With the sharp contours, it features LED headlamp and digital instrument cluster while being powered by a 162.7cc motor that makes 13.9bhp and 13.9Nm. All of this comes at a premium of around Rs 11,000 over the CB Unicorn 150 ABS. The same premium can be also be spent on the Suzuki Gixxer. With a similar engine and power figures as the Honda X-Blade, the Gixxer is a muscular-looking street bike.
At a similar price to that of the Unicorn 150 ABS, you can opt for a sporty, powerful and agile scooter – the Aprilia SR150 Race edition. It rides on 14-inch wheels, which is largest for a scooter in India, and suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and rear monoshock. Moreover, it is powered by a peppy 154.8cc motor that pumps out 10.25bhp and 11.4Nm of torque.
