Honda India has launched the new CB Unicorn 160 at Rs 69,350. Representing the brand’s popular Unicorn series of motorcycles, the CB Unicorn 160 is the latest entrant in the premium 150cc to 180cc segment.
Design wise, the CB Unicorn 160 takes inspiration from the CX-01 concept, which was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. Powering this new model is a 163cc, single cylinder engine developing 14.7bhp of power and 14.6Nm of torque. Honda is claiming a top speed of 106kmph for the CB Unicorn 160.
Priced at Rs 69,350 for the disc variant and Rs 74,414 for the CBS-equipped model (ex-showroom, Delhi), the CB Unicorn 160 fills in the void left by the CB Dazzler. The CB Dazzler was Honda’s answer to the rapidly growing premium commuter motorcycle segment. However, thanks to the stiff competition from Yamaha’s capable FZ series, the Dazzler failed to put up strong sales numbers and was eventually discontinued.
With the new CB Unicorn 160, Honda is looking to grab a share of this lucrative segment which attracts a young breed of audience looking for a premium motorcycle that can be used on a daily basis.
