Honda has introduced the BSIV-compliant version of the CB Unicorn 160 at Rs 73,481 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This update along with new paint schemes has bumped the price of the 160cc commuter by Rs 1,700.
The Honda CB Unicorn 160 is powered by a 162cc single-cylinder engine which delivers 13.8bhp and 13.9Nm of torque through a five-speed transmission. With the engine now being BSIV compliant, there has been a 0.7bhp drop in power output and a 0.7Nm drop in torque rating. The Honda CB Unicorn 160 has also been updated with new paint schemes and decals. The motorcycle is now available in five shades – matte blue, black, matte grey, white and metallic red.
The Honda CB Unicorn 160 was a replacement for the CB Unicorn 150, though it has been unable to replicate the success of its predecessor. With sales falling drastically, rumour mills suggested that Honda is going to discontinue the motorcycle. However, the drop in numbers seems to have been a result of Honda realigning its production to meet the demand for the CB Hornet 160R and the CB Unicorn 150. With the launch of the BSIV version, Honda has dispelled speculations about discontinuing the motorcycle any time soon.
