Honda recently unveiled the next-generation CB1000R at the EICMA Show. A production version of the Neo Sports Café, the CB1000R takes a neo-retro approach towards styling while featuring a more powerful engine and technological upgrades. Here is a photo gallery of the 2018 Honda CB1000R -
The round headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, single-sided swingarm and brushed steel finishes on the CB1000R draw inspiration from the Neo Sports Café.
The retro styling cues coexist with modern touches like the LED headlamp and tail lamp, colour digital display and a sophisticated electronics package.
The console integrates a round tachometer on the left with a gear indicator at its centre. It displays riding modes along with other basic functions.
At the heart of the CB1000R is a 998cc inline four engine borrowed from the previous generation CBR1000RR Fireblade.
The engine delivers 143bhp and 104Nm of torque, and is mated to a six-speed transmission. The CB1000R+ also gets a bidirectional quickshifter.
The CB1000R gets ride by wire system, with four riding modes. Slipper clutch, IMU-based ABS and traction control are offered as standard.
The CB1000R rides on fully-adjustable Showa front and rear suspension setup. Brake setup consists of dual 310mm front discs and a 256mm rear disc.
The higher-spec CB1000R+ variant benefits from a quickshifter, heated grips and a few cosmetic upgrades.
