The patent drawing of the Indonesia-spec 2016 Honda CB150R has been leaked, giving us the first look of the 150cc streetfighter. The technical specifications leaked along with the patent drawing show that the new CB150R will be significantly different, both mechanically and cosmetically, from the outgoing model.
While the CB150R continues to be based on a diamond steel frame, the new model will be longer and taller than its predecessor. The 150cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine puts out 16.7bhp and 14Nm of torque through the six-speed transmission. Cosmetically, the muscular body panels of the CB150R have been redesigned to boost the bike’s aggressive streetfighter image.
As the CB150R is the naked version of the CBR150R fully-faired motorcycle, we can safely expect a new CBR150R to be introduced a few months down the line. However, the launch of a new CB150R and CBR150R in Indonesia is not necessarily an indicator of changes in Honda’s Indian line-up, as the Japanese manufacturer might continue to offer the CBR150R in its current trim for the next few months..
