Honda India expanded its 300cc motorcycle segment with the launch of the CB300F recently. Unlike the CB300R, the F is a rather sportier and youthful take from Honda on the 300cc segment. That said, it rivals the BMW G 310 R in the same category. So. we’ve faired the two bikes on paper.
Design
Honda has equipped the CB300F with a rather sporty design and more chiselled bodywork. It gets a sharp LED headlight and a muscular fuel tank. BMW too has ticked most of the boxes in terms of the G 310 R’s design. It looks sporty and enticing. Not to mention, the practicality front has also been taken care of.
Features
On the feature front, the Honda CB300F gets LED illumination, a fully-digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, traction control and ABS. On the other hand, the BMW G 310 R only gets LED illumination, a fully digital console and dual-channel ABS.
Engine
Powering the CB300F is a 293cc, oil-cooled, engine dishing out 23.8bhp and 25.6Nm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch. BMW’s roadster packs a 313cc single-cylinder motor with the output rated at 33.52 bhp and 28 Nm. The G 310 R too gets a six-speed gearbox and a slip and assist clutch.
Hardware
Both bikes get USD front forks and a monoshock setup. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a single front and rear disc with dual-channel ABS. Both the bikes roll on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyre.
Price
Honda has priced the CB300F Deluxe at Rs 2.26 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the Deluxe Pro at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The BMW G 310 R costs Rs 2,70,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
