Yesterday, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India launched the CB300F in India. It’s pretty surprising considering the brand already has a 300cc streetfighter offering in the portfolio – CB300R. However, the two differ on a few fronts, so we’ve compared the CB300F and the CB300R on paper.
Design
The newly launched CB300F gets a proper streetfighter design. Its sharp fascia housing the LED headlight, aggressive bodywork, and forward-set stance give it a youthful look. On the other hand, the CB300R gets a more neo-retro approach with its round LED headlight and overall smooth flowing design.
Features
Apart from LED illumination, the Honda CB300F gets a fully digital instrument console with five levels of brightness adjustability, traction control, Bluetooth connectivity to receive calls, SMS and music control. On the other hand, the CB300R features a fully digital instrument cluster and LED illumination.
Engine
Powering the latest model is a 293cc, oil-cooled, four-valve motor belting out 23.8bhp and 25.6Nm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch. Meanwhile, the CB300R houses a 286cc liquid-cooled motor with the output rated at 31.1 bhp and 27.5 Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and aids from a slip and assist clutch.
Hardware
Both bikes are equipped with USD front forks and a rear monoshock. However, the CB300F’s rear shock gets five-step adjustability and the CB300R’s gets seven-step. Braking hardware on the CB300F comprises a 276mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc. The CB300R gets a 296mm front and 220mm rear disc. Both bikes feature a dual-channel ABS. Both bikes ride on 17-inch alloys wrapped in a 110/70 front and a 150/60 rear tyre.
Price
Honda has priced the CB300F at Rs 2.26 lakh for the Deluxe variant while the Deluxe Pro trim costs Rs 2.29 lakh. As for the CB300R, the asking price is set to Rs 2,77,000 (all ex-showroom Delhi).
