Beginning the year on a high note, Honda has launched the all-new CB300R in India. Brought to India via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route, Honda has priced the motorcycle at Rs 2.41 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The motorcycle made its international debut in the winter of 2017 subsequent to which, it has now reached Indian soil.
Sporting Honda’s Neo Sports design, the CB300R shares its modern-retro styling cues with the CB1000R+ sold in India. It features a classic circular headlamp equipped with modern LED lamps. The bike has a sculpted tank flanked by brushed alloy radiator shrouds, further accentuating its styling. Other bits include LED tail lamp, LED indicators and a full LED instrument console. Moreover, Honda has equipped the CB300R with a newly designed exhaust system based on the Neo Sport Café style, delivering a powerful and aggressive note.
Built around a tubular steel frame, the CB300R is powered by a 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC motor that is capable of producing 30bhp of max power at 8500rpm and 27.5Nm of peak torque at 7500rpm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox.
Suspension duties are done by 41mm inverted forks up front and a 7-step adjustable monoshock for the rear. For braking, the CB300R utilizes a 296mm single disc with a radial four-pot caliper for the front and a 220mm disc with a single-piston caliper for the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard with IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). In terms of weight, the CB300R tips the scale at 142kg.
With booking already being accepted for a minimum amount of Rs 5,000, the company will begin deliveries of the CB300R soon. On the competition front, the all-new CB300R goes up against the BMW G 310 R and the KTM 390 Duke in its segment.
