Honda has showcased two new H2C (Honda 2Wheels Customised) concept bikes at the 2016 Bangkok Motor Show in Thailand. Based on the CB500X and the CB500F production models, these concepts demonstrate the numerous possibilities for those interested in customising their motorcycles.
True to its rugged character, the CB500X concept came armed with crash protectors to safeguard the engine, wheels, radiator and the fairing in case of a crash. The dual-sport tyres take care of the go-anywhere capabilities, while the Givi hardcase panniers and a luggage box in the rear act improve its storage capacity. It also gets knuckle guards, LED spot lights and LED turn indicators.
The CB500F concept continues with the minimalistic looks of a streetfighter. To keep it light, the stock fenders and chain covers have been ditched in favour of carbon fibre bits. It also gets a cross-braced handlebar, split seats and contrast stitching for the seats.
Both the concepts are painted in distinctive grey paint schemes with orange highlights. Mechanically, the concepts are identical to the production models. They are powered by 500cc parallel-twin engines, which deliver 47bhp and 43Nm of torque.
Besides these two, Honda also unveiled a host of other concept bikes and customised versions of existing production models at the annual motor show. Customers in markets like Thailand and Indonesia place emphasis on personalising their motorcycles and customisation programs like H2C prove to be very effective as a marketing strategy.
