The Honda CBR 650F has been spotted at a dealership in Indore, fuelling rumours that the Japanese manufacturer has commenced the production of the motorcycle in India. If reports are to be believed then we can expect Honda to launch this motorcycle in India before the end of this month.
Giving momentum to the ‘Make in India’ campaign, Honda had announced last year that the CBR650F was going to be locally produced in India. The CBR650F will be assembled at Honda’s plant in Manesar, which should help the Japanese manufacturer offer the bike with a lucrative price tag. Honda also revealed that it will be setting up a new premium distribution format, in 20 cities across the country, for this motorcycle.
The Honda CBR650F is a middleweight supersports motorcycle built around a twin-spar steel frame and powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled inline four mill that churns out 87bhp/63Nm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Aesthetically, it has been designed to resemble the CBR600RR, though the single headlamp unit differentiates it from the sportier 600cc motorcycle.Once launched, the CBR 650F will rival other middleweights likethe Kawasaki Ninja 650R, Hyosung GT650R and the Benelli TNT 600GT.
