Honda CBR1000RR- What else can you buy?

The 2018 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade was recently launched in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 14.78 lakhs. It directly competes with Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R1000, BMW S1000RR, Yamaha YZF-R1 and the Aprilia RSV4. However, if you are on a similar budget and want something other than a litre-class superbike, the Indian market offers six bikes that you could opt for. Here is what the list of the motorcycles looks like-

Similar to the CBR1000RR’s body style is the Ducati 959 Panigale. The Italian superbike sports an aggressive yet elegant design language and will cost you Rs 14.53 lakhs. Powering the bike is a 955cc L-twin Superquadro engine that produces 157bhp and 107Nm of torque.

There are also three streetfighters on offer. First up is the CB1000R  from Honda’s own stables, priced at Rs 14.42 lakhs. The bike sports a distinctive inverted triangular headlamp and an exposed rear wheel that adds to its raw streetfighter appeal. Powering the bike is a 999cc, liquid-cooled inline-four cylinder engine that produces 129bhp and 112Nm of torque.

There also is the Kawasaki Z1000 with its out of this world, ‘Sugomi’ styled bodywork. The bike uses a 1,043cc inline-four cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 142bhp and 111Nm of torque. It is priced at Rs 15.10 lakhs. You could also opt for the BMW R1200 R priced at Rs 15.60 lakhs. The bike is powered by a 1170cc, liquid-cooled, boxer-twin engine that produces 124bhp and 125Nm of torque.

If neither the superbike nor the streetfighters appeal to you, there are cruisers in this list too. The Harley-Davidson Fat Bob sports a radical design language and gets an all-LED rectangular headlamp and fat tyres, which plays a big role in the aesthetics of the bike. It uses a 1745cc V-Twin that produces 145Nm of torque. The Harley-Davidson Fat Bob will cost you Rs 14.17 lakhs. The Triumph Thunderbird Storm is available for Rs 14.66 lakhs. It is rightly called the 'cruiser with a dark side'. While the motorcycle is all-black, it gets a contrasting chrome exhaust. Powering the bike is a 1,700cc parallel-twin engine that produces 97bhp and 156Nm of torque.
