- Boasts a special edition paint scheme
- Limited to 30 units worldwide
- Powered by a 1000cc inline four-cylinder engine
To commemorate legendary racer, John McGuinness’ 100th TT race start, Honda has built a limited edition CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP. Dubbed the John McGuinness edition, only 30 units of the bike will be available worldwide and here’s what it packs.
The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP John McGuinness Edition is essentially a replica of the TT race bike. So, it gets the same track-ready design with all the cosmetic bits. This also includes the same paint scheme as the race bike with Gold detailing and John’s 100 TT race starts alongside the sponsors. Moreover, the bike is also equipped with a carbon fibre front and rear fender and gets a rear seat cowl too. The bike also gets a numbered plague on the handlebar clamp and John’s signature on the air box.
Honda has plonked a 1000cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder motor. For reference, the stalk bike makes 214bhp and 113Nm. And the TT race bike gets a number of performance upgrades including an Akrapovic exhaust system. The cycle parts comprise 43mm USD front forks from Ohlins and TT-36 rear shock, while the braking hardware comes from Brembo. Honda will provide the bike with Metzeler Racetec RR tyres and also provide a set of original tyres. Last but not least, buyers will also get a custom Fireblade garage mat and indoor body cover for their Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP John McGuinness Edition.
Having said that, all 30 units are likely to be sold overseas and would come at a probable premium over the standard model. For reference, the base model is priced at Rs 23.55 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
