Over a year after the concept was first shown at the Tokyo Motor Show, the first teaser of the Honda CBR250RR has been leaked on the internet. The low resolution photo previews the silhouette of the Honda CBR250RR without letting in many details about the all-new twin-cylinder supersports bike.
The teaser shows that Honda has retained a majority of the styling cues from the Light Weight Super Sports Concept, while incorporating finer details from Honda’s current supersport range. The motorcycle will house a brand new parallel twin liquid-cooled engine, which is rumoured to get a ride-by-wire throttle and switchable riding modes. Going by the teaser, the CBR250RR might ditch the easy-going riding position of the current bike to adopt a racier and more aggressive riding position.
While Honda has so far been tight lipped about the production version, Indonesian media has been reporting that this model will be unveiled in August and go on sale by October, this year. The Indonesian market will be one of the first markets to get a taste of the new CBR250RR, while Indian enthusiasts might have to wait till early 2017. It will rival the likes of the Yamaha YZF-R3, KTM RC390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
