Honda recently revealed the first official photograph of its new quarter-litre concept motorcycle, which will debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Based on this photograph, MotoBlast has released a speculative rendering of how the production version of this concept motorcycle, rumoured to be christened Honda CBR 250RR, might look like.
Finished in a red paint scheme, the rendered Honda CBR 250RR borrows major design cues from the concept bike, while incorporating finer details from Honda’s current supersport range. While the concept sported an Akrapovic unit, the rendered motorcycle borrows the stubby underbelly exhaust system from the bigger CBR 650R. It also adds other crucial functional bits like mirrors, turn signals, rear foot pegs and headlamps to the motorcycle. Suspension, brakes and the rest of the bodywork has been carried over from the concept bike.
Though Honda hasn’t revealed the technical details, the concept seems to be powered by a parallel twin engine and we can expect the same unit to be used for the production bike. The new quarter-litre motorcycle can be expected to go on sale by mid-2016. It will compete with other entry-level supersports motorcycles like the Yamaha YZF-R25, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the KTM RC390.
