Detailed specifications of the Honda CBR250RR, which had been withheld during the bike’s unvileing in July, have been leaked by an Indonesian media house.
The 250cc parallel twin engine churns out 36.3bhp at 12,500rpm and 22.5Nm of torque at 10,500rpm. It rides on 17-inch wheels with 110/70 and 140/70 profile tyres, with ABS being offered as an optional extra. Tipping the scales at 165 kilograms (168 kilograms for the ABS version), the CBR250RR can gulp down 14.5 litres of fuel. Honda is claiming a top speed of 169kmph for the CBR250RR.
While the Honda CBR250RR is the newest of the lot, its power output is lower than the Yamaha YZF-R3, KTM RC390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300. However, the CBR250RR does have the lowest kerb weight and the smallest capacity engine among its rivals. Rumours suggest that Honda will be launching a 300cc version of the CBR250RR. Either way, there is nothing for the Indian audience to be excited about as Honda doesn’t have any plans to launch this bike in India anytime soon.
