Honda has debuted two new mid-range bikes – the CBR650F and CB650F, that will round up their ‘practical range’ for Europe and Asian markets. The new bikes sport the 650cc inline-four setup which support low and medium engine speeds offering everyday usability and brilliant efficiency (21kmpl).
As the name suggests, the CB650F is a naked motorcycle that shows off an all-new twin spar steel frame. It gets a new aluminium swing arm, preload adjustable rear shock and owing to European regulations ABS as a standard fitment. The CBR650F has the same frame underneath but is fully faired complete with clip-on handlebars.
Both the bikes derive power from a new 649cc DOHC unit that is good for 87bhp @ 11,000rpm and 63Nm @ 8,000rpm. The engine is mated to six-speed gearbox and stopping power in the front is provided by a pair of 320mm discs with traditional two-piston calipers. The display console is digital with white backlight and both the front and back get ample LED lights.
Looks are subjective, but we at BikeWale think both look incredible and hope that they will be launched in India soon. Since these are inline-four they won’t compete with any of the 600cc vehicles available in India, but even for a price tag of around Rs 8.5 lakh either of these will be a really good deal.
