The Honda CBR650F’s launch in India seems to be just around the corner, as the bike was recently been spotted doing rounds of the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, Delhi.
The upcoming middleweight sports touring motorcycle was photographed while being put through its paces at the Formula One track. Though reports suggest that the CBR650F was being shot for a TV commercial, the lack of official logos and decals on the bike makes us doubt this assumption.
Built around a twin-Spar steel frame, the CBR650F is powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled inline four engine, which delivers 87bhp and a peak torque of 63Nm through a six speed transmission. Aesthetically, it has been designed to resemble the CBR600RR, though the single headlamp unit sets it apart from the 600cc supersports motorcycle.
Honda recently revealed that it will be setting up a new premium distribution format for this motorcycle, in 20 cities across the country. The CBR650F will be locally assembled at Honda’s plant in Manesar, which should help the Japanese manufacturer launch it here with a lucrative price tag. It competes with other middleweights like the Kawasaki Ninja 650, Hyosung GT650R and the Benelli BN 600GT.
