There were two very interesting Honda CBR650F-based motorcycles displayed by Honda at the EICMA motorcycle show last year. The scrambler esque motorcycle was called the CB Six50 and the café racer styled one was called the CB4. According to international sources, these two CBR650F-based concepts could turn into production models.
According to sources in Indonesia, they have seen the patent files for both these bikes. Being mechanically identical to the CBR650F, Honda should not have a tough time getting these motorcycles out into the market soon. Back at EICMA, Chief Designer Valerio Aiello was quoted saying “Both are realistic concepts to put into production.” Which shows Honda intentions.
The CB4 which is the café racer version looked neat as well. The single-sided swing arm drew the most attention and helped giving the bike the look it needed. The bike's body was a mix of white and black, but red accents on the calipers and suspension provide a pop of colour. The front features a round headlight for a more classic style than the rectangular unit on the CB Six50. Let aside the colour schemes, the motorcycles in the patent images appear to be identical to the concept counterparts.
According to us, the chances of seeing these motorcycle at Indian Honda dealerships are slim to none. As of now, Honda does not see India as a market for such ‘special’ motorcycles which is also the reason we do not see the Grom being sold here.
