Honda recently launched the CD110 Dream DX in the country. The entry-level commuter competes against the Bajaj Discover 110 and the Hero Splendor iSmart 110 in India. We find out how these bikes stack up against each other on paper.
Design
The Honda CD110 Dream DX sports conservative styling however, the new dual tone graphics lend a refreshed look to the bike. The Splendor iSmart 110 on the other hand stands out of the crowd with its curvy and stylish design. Although the Discover 110 has simple styling, the bike gets features like LED DRLs and a semi-digital instrument cluster that the other two bikes miss out on. The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 benefits from the manufacturer’s proprietary i3s technology. The idle start-stop system helps in saving fuel in stop-go traffic.
Engine
The CD110 Dream DX is powered by a 109cc single-cylinder engine that produces 8.3bhp and 9Nm of torque. The Splendor iSmart 110 also uses a 109cc single-cylinder engine; however it puts out a slightly higher, 9.3bhp and 9Nm of torque making it the most powerful bike here. The Bajaj Discover 110 however, has the biggest engine of the three. This engine produces 8.6bhp and 9.8Nm of torque, making it the torquey-est bike in the list. All engines are mated to a four-speed gearbox and final chain drive
Cycle parts
All three bikes use telescopic front suspension and a dual-shock setup at the rear. Braking setup too is similar with drum brakes on both ends. The CD110 Dream DX and Splendor iSmart 110 ride on 18-inch alloy wheels for the front and rear shod with tubeless tyres. On the other hand, the Discover 110 gets 17-inch alloys and tubed tyres.
While the Discover 110 and CD110 Dream DX sport an 8-litre fuel tank, the Splendor iSmart 110 gets a bigger 8.5-litre fuel tank capacity.
Price
The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 is the most expensive bike here priced at Rs 55,837. The Bajaj Discover 110 comes in second at Rs 51,174. Priced at Rs 48,272, the Honda CD110 Dream DX is the most affordable motorcycle in this list.
