When Honda showcased the City Adventure Concept at the 2015 EICMA Show, we thought it was just an attempt to get more visitors to their pavilion. But it looks like, there’s more to that.
The Japanese maker is in the process of giving final touches to the production version of this adventure scooter. In fact, a couple of months ago, a heavily camouflaged City Adventure was spied testing in Italy. And now, the patent images of the final production version have been leaked on the internet.
From these images, it’s clear that Honda hasn’t toned down the design of this adventure scooter. Instead, it has made a couple of changes, which can be seen as an upgrade. The exhaust is now smaller and more compact, which honestly, looks so much better than the older one. It also gets larger handguards. Honda has retained the flat panel instrument pod that houses the TFT display.
Honda has used up a lot of components from the NC750 like the 54bhp parallel twin engine, DCT semi-auto gearbox. With the City Adventure, Honda wants to create a new segment of adventure scooters and maybe become a pioneer in it as well. While the concept name was the City Adventure, Honda has filed patents for two names – ‘ADV’ and ‘X-ADV’. With two names in hand, does this mean there will be two versions? Well, let’s wait and watch!
