The Africa Twin is Honda’s flagship adventure-touring motorcycle that was introduced in India in 2017. Since then, the motorcycle has garnered a positive response as the company managed to sell several units in India. Recently, Honda conducted an ‘Africa Twin True Adventure Camp’ event specifically designed to provide owners with an exposure to the capabilities of the 1000cc adventure-touring machine.
The first camp was held at a campsite, close to scenic Damdama Lake in Sohna (Haryana) which witnessed the participation of 20 riders. Comprising of theoretical and practical sessions, the chief trainer in-charge was none other than off-road veteran Vijay Parmar, along with his team. Riders received sessions on the basics of motorcycling and off-roading which were delivered in a fun and interactive way. Besides going back to the basics of motorcycling, the participants were taught about the Africa Twin’s advanced features like the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), different modes of riding for different terrains and other off-road capacities of the motorcycle. With the aim to boost rider confidence, special sessions were also provided to expose participants to tackle obstacles and factors like humps, underground turns, gravel, pits and dirt tracks.
Given at the positive response received for the first camp, Honda will be conducting more adventure camp events in other locations in a phase-wise manner in cities including Mumbai, Bangalore and Kochi.
