Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) organised a free PUC check-up drive in India to celebrate National Pollution Control day. The main motive was to advocate 'Green Consumerism' across the company's various dealerships in India.
Under this initiative, the company checked emission levels of all Honda and even non-Honda two-wheelers. PUC check-up was offered free of cost while imparting knowledge about regular two-wheeler maintenance amongst riders. They were also educated on how a periodic vehicle check-up can help reduce the carbon emissions and help towards a pollution-free environment.
Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, HMSI, said, "Preserving the environment is among the top priorities for us at Honda. We are committed to 30 per cent CO2 reduction by the end of 2020. We are actively contributing to build a greener tomorrow. In line with our vision of 'Blue skies for our children', this day is focused on creating awareness of how consumers can by reducing, reusing and recycling. This can not only help in reducing carbon footprints but also add up to the larger cause of environment preservation. By activating the campaign through our entire dealership network, we are excited to reach out to maximum two-wheeler customers and magnify the campaigns impact."
HMSI has been very active in consumer-related initiatives, be it related to road safety, environment or customer delight. All Honda touch-points in India have been instrumental in the promotion of such programs. The manufacturer has also set up traffic parks in different metropolitan cities in India with an aim of educating youth about road safety and giving information on riding safely.
