Honda has unveiled the CRF 250 Rally production prototype at the 2016 Osaka Motorcycle Show in Japan, exactly a year after the debut of the original concept bike.
The Honda CRF 250 Rally is a road-going version of the CRF250L Dakar race machine, and is based on the same underpinnings. Aesthetically, it is influenced by the bigger adventure bikes in Honda's range, especially the Africa Twin. The tall riding stance, narrow fuel tank and seat, underseat exhaust, suspension and the wired wheels hint at the CRF250 Rally's capabilities.
Revisions to this new model, over the 2015 concept, include a new windshield, LED headlamp, revised side panels and a Termignoni exhaust system. Other components like the GPS mount and the electronic dashboard have been revised to make the bike more production feasible. Details about the powertrain are still sketchy as the company has refused to divulge any information about the same.
The Honda CRF250 Rally should be the ideal ride for those looking for a light yet potent off-roader, especially for beginners. While this motorcycle is still a 'prototype', Honda is expected to reveal the final production version before the end of this year.
