- Honda patents CRF300L in India
- Already retails in the US at a base price of USD 5,249 (Rs 3.84 lakh)
- India launch details unknown
Honda has registered a trademark for CRF300L in India. This entry-level adventure motorcycle is offered in the US as an affordable option over the Africa Twin. The Africa Twin retails in the US at USD 14,399 which converts to Rs 10.52 lakh.
The CRF300L is a simple and lean-looking adventure motorcycle. The motorcycle features a single-piece seat, a sharp beak up front, wide handlebars, wide rear tyre and spoke wheels.
In the US, the CRF300L is powered by a 286cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with a counterbalancer. This engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. Furthermore, it comes equipped with a 21-inch wheel at the front and an 18-inch wheel at the rear.
The ride of the dual-sport motorcycle is taken care of by 43mm inverted forks at the front and Pro-Link single shock with spring at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking, it employs a 256mm single disc at the front and a 220mm single disc at the rear.
The CRF300L is already on sale in the US where it retails at a base price of USD 5,249 which converts to Rs 3.84 lakh. However, its launch in the Indian market seems quite uncertain as the Japanese brand patents a lot of designs and technologies in India, but it does not necessarily make it to our shores. The company might be just protecting its properties with the trademark. Moreover, Honda has recently introduced the CB500X in the Indian market, which is priced at Rs 6.87 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai).
