It looks like Honda is joining the small displacement adventure bike bandwagon too. A new drawing showcasing the upcoming Dominator was leaked a few days ago.
This drawing was a part of Honda’s patent application for a new two-part switch which will be on the bike’s left-hand handlebar. This switch would be a multi function unit that could sport multiple riding modes. The drawing shows an adventure style seat, large front mudguard and dirt-bike type swingarm. The overall ergonomics is relaxing too. The luggage rack has been extended to have luggage rack. While there is no information on the displacement, we believe Honda would plonk a smaller displacement engine, say a 300cc that will help it take on bikes like the BMW G310GS, Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and the KTM 390 Adventure.
The Dominator was discontinued in 2001, however, before that the company used to sell the Dominator with various displacements. The upcoming Dominator will be developed for the Asian and the European markets. A motorcycle like this a relevant one for the Indian market. However, if Honda is able to get the pricing correct, the Dominator would surely do well in India.
