Honda recently expanded its scooter portfolio by launching the new Dio 125 in India. It is the bigger sibling of the 110cc Dio that has been on sale for years now. While both look similar, the bigger version intends to deliver a more premium experience, mainly with a bigger engine and additional features. In case you’re planning to buy the Dio 125, here are the key details of the scooter along with its pictures.
At first glance, the Dio 125 looks identical to its smaller sibling with an aggressive and sporty stance. The huge apron-mounted headlamp, V-shaped DRL, and sleek tail lamp are nearly unchanged.
The 125cc offering, however, boasts additional cuts and creases on the front fender and side panels along with faux carbon fibre finishing on some panels.
The biggest differentiating factor is the larger OBD2-compliant, 123.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with eSP (Enhanced Smart Power). This unit produces 8.16bhp at 6,250rpm and 10.3Nm at 5,000rpm.
The Dio 125 is also more advanced on the feature front with things like a new fully-digital instrument cluster which comprises a larger and more informative display on top along with a smaller LCD underneath.
The feature list of the new Dio also comprises an LED headlight, idling stop system, side-stand indicator with engine inhibitor, integrated headlamp beam & passing switch, and a combined braking system.
The Honda Dio 125 is available in two variants – standard and Smart that are priced at Rs 83,400 and Rs 91,300, respectively (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
