Honda has launched the Dio with a new matte grey paint scheme, three months after it was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. This new update comes at no extra cost as the scooter continues to sport a price tag of Rs 48,264 (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
The matte grey Dio also comes with a new 3D emblem and body-coloured grab rail. Apart from this, the Dio is identical to the standard model. It is powered by the same 109cc air-cooled single cylinder from the Activa, which produces 8bhp and 8.77Nm of torque. The Dio comes equipped with Honda Eco Technology and a combi braking system.
Speaking about the Dio, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Sr VP, sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd said, “In line with Honda strategy to delight our customers by refreshing our product portfolio regularly, the new Dio is Honda’s sixth new model of 2016. The new Matt Axis grey colour with value addition of the premium 3D emblem without any additional cost makes it a compelling proposition to own one.”
The success of the Dio isn’t limited just to the Indian market, as it happens to be the Honda’s top export model. This scooter is currently shipped off to Colombia, Mexico, Sri Lanka and Nepal, and Honda plans to add other countries to this list soon. In India, the Dio competes with the Yamaha Cygnus Ray Z and the Hero Duet.
