Honda will integrate the current-generation Gold Wing (2018 and newer) with the Android Auto connectivity feature at no additional cost. Owners of the vehicle with Android 5.0 or later smartphones and the Android Auto app will be able to access services such as music, phone calls and messaging. The method to update software is planned to be available in mid-June 2020. This announcement was made for the US market.
The company already offers the motorcycle with Apple CarPlay connectivity in the North American market. The company claims that the navigation features and application-specific services have been well-received by many customers.
Android Auto brings a simplified interface, and easy-to-use voice actions (Google Assistant) to minimise distraction. Honda is bringing Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration to more models, and the company plans to bring comfort and convenience to customers' motorcycle lifestyles worldwide.
Back in India, Honda has started to reopen the dealerships and workshops after the lockdown restrictions have been eased. The company has reopened dealerships and workshops located in orange and green zones.
