- Limited units equipped with faulty fuel pump
- Goldwings manufactured between December 2017 to December 2023 have been affected
- The inspection and replacement will be done free of charge
Honda Motorcycles has recalled two of its premium motorcycle models across India. These are the Goldwing and the CBR1000RR and it has come to Honda’s notice that both bikes have been equipped with a faulty fuel pump. The Japanese bikemaker has further revealed that the fuel pump impellers may have been improperly moulded. This can further cause deformation and result in potential fuel pump failure.
This is the same recall that Honda announced in the international market about a month ago. For India, the Honda Goldwing GL1800s manufactured between December 2017 and December 2023 may have been affected. Meanwhile, the CBR1000RR bikes made between September 2017 and April 2020 might need repair.
Honda says that fuel pump inspection and replacement will be carried out at BigWing Topline dealerships across India, free of cost, irrespective of the warranty status of the bike. Moreover, the overall activity will take about an hour.
Owners can visit the brand’s official website and cross-check if their bike is affected by entering the VIN.
