Honda Grom, the motorcycle that inspired the Navi has been spied testing in India for the first time. A prototype was seen near Shimla a few days ago.
For starters, the Grom is also known as the MSX 125 (Mini- Street Xtreme 125) in the European markets. It’s a small lifestyle motorcycle that has been developed for young riders. This small street-fighter is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor that produces 9.7bhp and 10.9Nm of peak power. This motor is mated to a four-speed gearbox.
Being a lifestyle product, the Japanese manufacturer has loaded the Grom with some premium parts like upside-down forks in the front, ABS and LED headlamp. The brakes are 220mm disc with dual-piston caliper in the front and single 190mm disc at the rear. It rides on 12-inch wheels which are shod with road tyres.
Honda India has two more launches lined-up for this year and both are rumoured to be new brands. It is still not clear if the Japanese manufacturer plans to get the Grom to India. But, knowing Honda, they might be in a mood to experiment with this 125cc naked bike. We tried to know more about the Grom India launch, however, we're yet to hear anything from Honda.
