Honda India has reported a five percent increase in overall sales in February 2017. The company sold 3,69,865 units last month as compared to 3,51,401 units in February 2016.
The growth in sales is due to strong demand for the Activa range of scooters. Majority of the sales for Honda comes from Activas and that has helped it hold on to close to 58 per cent market share in the scooter segment.
In order to maintain its strong growth, the Japanese manufacturer has launched the BS-IV compliant models. One of the highest selling 125cc bike in India – the CB Shine SP was recently launched with an updated motor and AHO feature. It’s four speed gearbox model – the CB Shine, the Activa 125 and the latest launch – the Activa 4G all got the BS-IV compliant motor, AHO and new paint schemes.
All new bikes and scooters need to be equipped with AHO and BS-IV engine by March 31, 2017. If any manufacturers fail to do so, their products won’t be allowed to be sold and registered at all RTOs.
