Honda India has increased the price of all its two-wheelers by up to Rs 800, mainly to offset the impact of hike in diesel price and increase in insurance charges. The company’s operating and transportation cost is being affected due to increase in freight charges due to diesel hike.
"We have hiked the prices of all our models by Rs 200-800 from April 1. It is done mainly because of the impact of diesel price increase in recent times." said Y S Guleria, vice president, sales & marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India.
"Besides, recently insurance charges also increased. So, finally decided to pass on some burden to the consumers." added Guleria.
The Japanese makers locally manufactured motorcycles will now be priced between Rs 45,101 and Rs 1.77 lakh and scooters will be priced between Rs 44,718 and Rs 53,547.
