Honda has finally hopped on the modern-classic bandwagon in India with the introduction of the Hness CB 350. The motorcycle will be available in DLX and DLX Pro variants and the prices will start around Rs 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The exact price will be announced soon and it will be sold through Honda’s premium Big Wing dealership chain. The Hness CB 350 aims to compete against the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa Standard and the Benelli Imperiale 400.
The motorcycle retains the legendary CB heritage of Honda and that’s evident in its retro-inspired design. It sports a circular headlamp, a wide handlebar, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a single piece seat and chopped fenders. It has been bestowed with a heavy dose of chrome which can be seen on the headlamp bezel, fenders, engine crank case and exhaust. However, there are modern touches too such as blacked-out mirrors and handlebar and, alloy wheels.
The Hness CB 350 boasts of decent features and the list includes full-LED headlamp and tail lamp with ring-style turn indicators. The instrument cluster comprises an analogue speedometer along with a small LCD which shows real time mileage, average mileage, gear position, battery voltage and distance to empty. What’s more, the console is Bluetooth enabled and gets voice control system which gives access to navigation, music controls, phone calls and messages. Other kits include a hazard switch, side stand engine inhibitor and a start-stop switch.
The CB 350 is underpinned by a steel double cradle frame which holds a 348.36cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is mated to a five-speed gearbox, assisted by a slipper clutch. It churns out 20.5bhp at 5,500rpm and 30Nm of peak torque at 3,000rpm. The Hness rides on a 19-18-inch alloy wheel combo which is suspended by telescopic forks and dual springs. Braking is handled by a 310mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear along with dual-channel ABS. To make the ride safer, it is also equipped with Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) which is essentially the traction control system.
The Honda Hness CB 350 will be available three standard colour options – red, black, green along with three dual-tone paint schemes including black with silver, blue with white and black with grey.
