- Is likely to be called the NX200
- Based on the Hornet 2.0
- Is expected to be priced around Rs 1.45 lakh
Honda’s most affordable adventure-touring motorcycle is scheduled to be launched in India tomorrow, 19 August. Although the name hasn’t been officially revealed, the motorcycle is likely to be called the NX200.
While details are scarce, the bike is expected to be based on the Hornet 2.0 although with a focus on touring. The teaser videos have revealed that the upcoming Honda ADV would feature a tinted windscreem, knuckle-guard mounted turn signals, a tall handlebar and a split seat setup. Moreover, the motorcycle will also get dual-purpose tyres and petal discs on both wheels just like the Hornet 2.0.
The similarities between the two motorcycles are also expected to include golden-finished upside-down forks and the 184cc, single-cylinder engine. This motor on the Hornet 2.0 produces 17.03bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.1Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. And we could see similar power figures on the NX200 as well.
Now, the new Honda ADV is likely to be priced at a premium over the Hornet 2.0. We expect it to cost around Rs 1.45 lakh positioning it above its biggest rival, the Hero Xpulse 200 which costs Rs 1.20 lakh (both ex-showroom)
