Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has managed to garner a 20 million customer base in India. The company rolled out its 20th million vehicle last week, making it one of the fastest growing two-wheeler company in India.
The Japanese manufacturer announced that the highest contributions came from the Activa, which is not really a big surprise. Because of the Activa, the Gurgaon-based manufacturer has managed to hold 55 per cent market share in the country’s growing scooter segment. In order to pursue its growth further, Honda had announced its fourth plant which will be the world’s biggest scooter manufacturing facility in India, at Vithalapur, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Spread across 80 acres, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 1.2 million units that will take the company's overall production capacity to 5.8 million units.
