Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has reported that its May sales increased by three per cent. The company sold 3,67,226 units in May 2015 as compared to 3,55,530 units in the same month last year.
Out of the total sales, scooters scored the highest with 2,15,300 units as compared to 1,89,422 units in the corresponding month last year. In terms of motorcycle sales, Honda sold 1,38,140 units as compared to 1,52,714 units in May 2014. In the exports, the company sold only 13,786 units in May 2015 as compared to 13,394 units in the same month last year.
Honda claims that its overall domestic market share has increased by one per cent to 26 per cent and in case of domestic and exports, it has risen by one per cent to 23 per cent. The company is aiming to sell 47 lakh units in the current financial year and wants to grow to 64 lakh unit sales by the next financial year.
