Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has inaugurated its first traffic park in East India at Bhubaneshwar and Cuttack. This new initiative isp company’s latest step for spreading road safety awareness in India.
Honda has associated with the respective regional transport authorities of Bhubaneswar-II and Cuttack. The two new traffic parks are located in Bhubaneswar (driving testing center, Chandarshekharpur) and Cuttack (driving testing center, Sector 6, CDA).
At these new traffic parks, children from 5-8 years of age will be encouraged to learn safety with fun in primary school activity. Honda has imported few CRF 50 motorcycles that will help young minds from 9-12 years understand the importance of safety riding through practical riding experience. Theoretical sessions and riding trainers will help young riders above 18 years of age to experience 100+ possible dangers on road. This virtual experience will increase their ability to predict and react to traffic hazards by creating awareness and knowledge about potential risks and how to deal with them in a safe manner.
“From more than a decade, Honda has been promoting safe riding activities across India. The basic issue is not only infrastructure but mindset of the road users. That is why the sea change cannot be brought overnight. It requires active participation from the Corporate, Government and society at large. As a good corporate citizen Honda understands its responsibility to contribute towards road safety promotion, keeping in mind the Indian traffic conditions and this Park is a significant step towards meeting our commitment of making Safe Riding an everyday habit of all 2Wheeler riders,.” said Yadvinder Guleria, vice president, sales & marketing, HMSI.
