Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will launch a new scooter this month reports Autocar Professional. The new scooter has been codenamed K24A and will feature the same 110cc engine that powers its current line of scooters.
Once launched, this will be the fourth scooter by the Japanese manufacturer. Initially, only 700 units of this scooter per month will be rolled from the Manesar facility and will be eventually increased in coming years. They currently have the recently launched Activa i, Activa, Dio and the Aviator in their scooter portfolio.
The company has taken the Indian market very seriously and has pledged to launch one product every quarter. With the Dream Neo, CB Trigger and the Activa-i already making its way from the production line, this scooter will be quite interesting. Not because it’s their fourth scooter, but because it will be interesting to see where the company will position this scooter in their complete product portfolio. The Activa-i and the Dio have been targeted at the Indian youth whereas the Activa and the Aviator is more like an ‘anyone-can ride’ scooter.
It looks like the company believes in the formula of having more products will result in more market share. Let’s wait and see what Honda has got for the Indian market.
