Honda India may launch Activa 125 in first half of April

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter unveiled the Activa 125 at the 2014 Auto Expo but didn’t confirm any date for the launch. Now there have been few reports doing rounds of the World Wide Web about a possible early April launch.

Few weeks ago, the official brochure of the Honda Activa 125 was leaked making us believe the launch is near. Usually, a manufacturer doesn’t plan on releasing  the official brochure of its products until the launch is near. This is a basic practice in India. But we will be very glad to see an official invite from Honda India in our inbox soon.

The Activa 125 is powered by a 124.9cc single cylinder engine that churns out 8.6bhp and 10.12 Nm at 5,500rpm. The company claims that the Activa 125 delivers the best in class fuel efficiency and gets a combi-brake system, tubeless tyres and optional disc brake.  It also gets clear lens indicators, alloy wheels, crowned headlight, front chrome bar which we feel is overdone and a digital console.

Engine size wise there is very less competition but we expect the Activa 125 to be priced between Rs 56,000 and Rs 59,000. This scooter will be the third scooter under the ‘Activa’ brand after the Activa-I and the Activa 110.
