Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India may launch a new motorcycle in Dream family in the first quarter of next fiscal. This new scooter is expected to be a premium commuter and will be positioned about the Dream Neo and the Dream Yuga.
This new Dream bike is expected to be powered by the same 109cc engine that churns out 8.4PS and will be much refined and efficient. To make it look little premium, Honda may improve the overall look by featuring body graphics, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, better instrument console.
This new motorcycle is being launched to fill Honda's void in the premium commuter segment. This same approach was used by Bajaj when they introduced the Discover 100T in the Indian market. Indian manufactures are trying to offer wide range within few thousand rupees to cater to wide and diverse consumers. This strategy will eventually get more sales and help the company expand its market share and footprints.
