Honda India has reported an 11 per cent growth in their overall sales in June. The company sold 252,115 units which helped them grow by 11 per cent overall year-on-year.
The Japanese maker sold 120,639 motorcycles in June helping them grow 17 per cent in this segment. In the scooter segment, the company sold 131,475 units, a straight 6 per cent growth year-on-year. These growth numbers have helped Honda to stay at 22 per cent market share in the Indian two-wheeler industry.
"While Indian two wheeler industry witnessed a de growth of five per cent, Honda continues to lead on back of strong customer demand and has clocked 11 per cent growth in June 2013. With the start of third plant in mid-June, we are working with new speed to satisfy our 95,000 waiting customers faster with quality products and services near them.
Now with the start of all India availability of our recently launched CB Trigger and Dream Neo, we are confident of consolidating our growth in future too,” said Y S Guleria, vice president - sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.
