Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has reported an impressive growth of 44 per cent in sales in February. The company sold 3,28,521 units as compared to 2,28,444 units in the same month last year.
The motorcycle segment grew at 40 per cent where the company sold total of 1,52,587 units as compared to 1,08,533 units in the corresponding month last year. The scooter segment also did very well for the Japanese manufacturer. It sold 1,76,034 units as against 1,19,911 units last year registering a double digit growth of 47 per cent.
One of the reasons for such impressive growth figures is because of the excise cut by the government that has led to a positive reaction inthe industry as well as among the buyers. The company has also announced to build a new manufacturing plant in Gujarat which is expected to be operational by 2015.
