Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has launched a new service named as “Service on Wheels”. This service will benefit Honda’s two-wheeler customers in remote areas where a specially designed Activa will be sent with a skilled professional for maintenance.
Honda had the national launch of its last mile service initiative, yesterday, at Dehradun. The Honda Activas designed for ‘Service on Wheels’ will be available at all 782 Honda dealerships by end of next month. With the combination of trained, skilled and professional technicians, and genuine spare parts, Honda intends to deliver quality service in order to satisfy their customers.
Honda plans to expand its network of 1,400 touch-points seen in the financial year 2012 to a projected 2,700 touch-points by end of present fiscal 2013-14. Honda’s strategy is to cater to its consumers located in far and secluded places in the country. In this view the SoW service has been initiated.
Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, HMSI, said, “I am happy to announce the all India launch of “Service on Wheels”. With SoW, we are empowering every two-wheeler customer of Honda, from a professional to even a housewife to experience Honda’s trusted quality service. This would help us further strengthen the trust of our customer in Honda.”
This new idea from Honda is a good initiative for the advantage of their customers and a first from any manufacturer. It should prove beneficial for owners of Honda two-wheelers especially from rural areas who find it difficult to go to a workshop far away from their home. Let’s hope other companies also come up with similar ideas for the convenience of two-wheeler owners.
